Carla Wesby's Bio

Carla Wesby has been a professional singer in NYC for over 20 years. She has sung solos with New York Philharmonic, American Symphony Orchestra, and New York City Ballet, to name a few. She has sung in the Chorus at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, and Bard Summerscape, and in many other performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She has toured with Mark Morris Dance Group and collaborated with pop stars Paul McCartney and Song Zuying. Favorite gigs include memorized and staged performances of Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion” at BAM, music of Joe Hisaishi from Studio Gibli/Miyazaki movies at Radio City Music Hall, and live performances of Danny Elfman’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” at the Barclays Center. Carla also created a cabaret entitled “The Almost, Not Quite, In-Between Girl” which she performed at The Duplex, Don’t Tell Mama’s, and The Townhouse.

Carla received a Bachelor of Music Education from Valparaiso University and a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music. She was a cantor and choir member at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for many years, which allowed her to sing for Pope Benedict, Pope Francis, and for thousands of people on SIRIUS Satellite Radio and YouTube. Discography includes several recordings with Alice Parker, “Les Huguenots” with Bard Summerscape, and most recently “Émigré” with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

Carla co-founded Woodside Arts Collective in fall of 2021, which is currently in its 5th season.

Carla resides in Queens with her husband and son. She enjoys yoga, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and singing and supporting fellow artists. She joined MidAmerica Productions in fall of 2024, and is thrilled to continue working in the arts in Production.
